Announcing the e-Show n Tell 2007 Photo Competition Winners!

I’d like to congratulate our winners for the Photo Competition. Although there was only a small number of submissions received, the images shared were fantastic, and really added to the blog coverage. Fab stuff everyone!!

1st Prize

First place goes to Kathie Warren, who shared a great image which depicted her keen participation, but also the bandwidth/access issues many of our regional participants face. Congrats Kathie!!

Kathie said: My entry illustrates the perils of attending a 3-day online conference on a budget DSL account!!

2nd Prize!

Second Place has been awarded to Howard Errey who shared a great photo of people from his team engaging in the conference. The judges were particularly impressed that Howard walked the talk and submitted his entry via mobile fone! Well done Howard and team!

Entry from Howard

Howard’s caption: “What’s all this blog & wiki business? Show & Tell was never like this.

Special Mentions

Special Mentions were also given to Mex Butler from South West TAFE in Victoria who’s entry depicted the central image of Ron Oliver’s keynote – on engaging people to the point where their brow is furrowed; and to Jan Roberts and Denece Sippo (and Jan’s hubby!) who submitted an entry which met the competition criteria beautifully and included some humour.

Special Thanks to ALL who participated and submitted an entry. Your images and captions were wonderful, and really helped to shine a light on the community engaged in the event.

Winners will be contacted within the next few days to arrange their prizes.

Nice work Kathie… and I hope you don’t have to go without Internet access for too long!! ;)

Another great entry just received…

This photo was taken (in our hotel room in Cairns) while Denece and I were helping Michael Chalk present his session about Community Engagement Projects. My hubby decided to take the opportunity to see if we required any service since we were tied to the computer so to speak!

And so ends the official coverage…

My creation

Well.. it’s 5pm on Day 3 of the e-Show n Tell 2007 Conference and I’m all blogged out! We’ve had some fabulous presentations and I’ve had lots of fun documenting the conference events here.

Live blogging is fun – but also challenging. I hope I’ve managed to maintain the pace and keep people who couldn’t make it to the synchronous events informed about what’s going on… and maybe demonstrated a little bit of blogging technique along the way! ;)

One of the key skills for blogging is ‘the mashup’ – being able to use a collection of Web 2.0 tools to put together a complete web prescence. In the conference context this is about creating ongoing coverage of the event… but in the classroom it’s about creating a personalised learning environment.

Anyway, for those who are interested, I’ve used the following tools throughout the three days to ‘mashup eshowntell2007′:

Anyway, I hope at least a small group of readers have found some fun and information in this space. We will post any remaining presentation resources or photocomp entries that are received before 5pm on Sunday 12 November 2007. We’d also love to see your comments and feedback here – so share some of your thoughts!! ;)

Please also visit the Conference website where you can login to access the collection of session recordings and join in the discussions there. You should also visit the Conference Wiki to share your ideas! Oh and don’t forget to share your feedback using the conference survey tool.

Othewise it’s over and out! Back to my usual blogging channel!

Regards,

PhotoComp – Mural Entry!

November 9, 2007

A very creative entry from Delia Bradshaw!

Untitled-3

Delia says: One time yesterday, as I was listening to one of the e-Show and Tell presenters, I turned to look outside, to think more deeply about the ideas in circulation, when this mural caught my eye.  It says a lot about the joy and magic of our e-voyage together, don’t you think?

Entry from Howard

A definite contender for the prize! Extra points for submitting it via mobile fone! Thanks Howard!
